Dr. Hemphill earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Pitt County Memorial Hospital/East Carolina University.

She completed a fellowship in Medical and Surgical NaProTECHNOLOGY® at the Saint Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction under Dr. Thomas Hilgers, co-developer of the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Hemphill is a natural family planning–only provider and has specialized training in the surgical diagnosis and treatment of conditions including endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), chronic endometritis, tubal disease, and pelvic adhesions. She is experienced in laparoscopic, robotic, and microsurgical procedures, including tubal reversal surgery. She has been listed as a recommended surgeon by the endometriosis advocacy group Nancy's Nook Endometriosis Education.

She also provides medical management for thyroid dysfunction, adrenal dysfunction, ovarian cysts, postpartum depression, and other women’s health concerns.
