Creighton Model FertilityCare™ Practitioner Education Program

Purpose
To enable individuals to provide Creighton Model FertilityCare™ services, with a holistic teaching approach and case management orientation.  This training will allow for independent FertilityCare™ practitioners to deliver these services with the highest quality.

Program Design
The 13-month program is based on an allied health educational model with both theoretical (150 hours) and clinical (200 hours) phases. The program includes two total immersion Education Phases (EP I&II) and two Supervised Practicum (SP I&II). This includes lecture, small group sessions, laboratory experience, drill and practice and supervisory input.

Education Phase I
This eight day total immersion course covers:Reproductive biology as it relates to natural methods of fertility regulation, basic review of philosophical, psychological and behavioral aspects important both to basic teaching and using the Creighton Model System (CrMS), and an introduction to the theory and practice of a sound basic teaching methodology.

Supervised Practicum I
This six month clinical experience is a faculty supervised practicum allowing the new FCPI to develop the basic teaching skills to provide CrMS services.  During this practicum the FCPI will communicate with the supervisor to aid their use of the Standardized Teaching Tools and case management of at least 6 clients.

Education Phase II
This six day total immersion course covers:Advanced teaching aspects of CrMS, review of cases from SPI, conducting pregnancy evaluations, and advanced teaching, behavioral issues, and  business aspects.

Supervised Practicum II
This seven month clinical experience is a faculty supervised practicum designed to complete the maturing and perfecting of the FCPI’s advanced teaching aspects and advanced Case Management. At least 12 new clients are required during SPII, for a total of 18 clients. **SPII includes an On-Site Visit with the supervisor in which the FCPI has the opportunity to demonstrate the development of their teaching skills in CrMS.

Final Certification Examination
Once the FCPI has satisfactorily met the requirements of completion of the Education Program, they will take a professionally administered final exam in the location of their choosing.
